The responsible car wash scheme launched at the House of Lords on Monday 22/10/2018, with support from the Bishops of Derby and Salisbury, the GLAA and major supermarkets including Sainsburys, Tesco, Waitrose, Morrisons and Asda.
The scheme will help consumers to identify operators who meet operating practices around 4 key areas:
- look after their workers
- trade legally
- adhere to environmental regulations
- and take care of their customers and their vehicles
This scheme will raise awareness and allow consumers to change practice by changing their buying habits. Customers want to know about their car washes and they will now have a way of finding out if their car wash has legal business practices.
