Terms of Use

Terms of Use

These terms govern your use of findmyfranchise.co.uk. Please read them. Last updated 19th October 2026.

1. Who we are

findmyfranchise.co.uk is operated by Find My Franchise Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales under company number 14652211, whose registered office is at 86-90 Paul Street, London, England, EC2A 4NE. In these terms, “we”, “us” and “our” mean that company, and “you” means anyone using the site.

By using the site you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, please do not use the site.

If you advertise with us, sections 7 to 11 also apply to you. If you only browse the directory or send an enquiry, they do not.

2. What the site is

We publish a directory of franchise opportunities and of suppliers who serve the franchise sector. Franchise brands advertise with us. People researching franchises browse those listings and can send an enquiry to the brands that interest them.

That is the whole of what we do. We are an advertising platform. We are not a broker, agent or intermediary, we do not sell franchises, and we are not a party to any agreement you go on to reach with a franchise brand.

Most of what appears in a listing is supplied by the brand itself. Some listings are compiled by us from public sources, such as a brand’s own website or the British Franchise Association’s membership register.

3. What we don’t do — please read this

Nothing on this site is advice. The listings, guides, quiz results, search rankings, Top 100 lists, Franchise Finder matches and answers from our franchise assistant are information and advertising. They are not financial, investment, legal or business advice, and they are not a recommendation to buy any particular franchise.

Our franchise assistant uses artificial intelligence to answer questions from the information in the listings. Its answers can be incomplete or wrong. Check anything important with the brand before you rely on it.

We are not authorised or regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority. Nobody may use the site to offer shares, bonds, securities, collective investment schemes or anything similar.

We do not check or verify listings. We do not carry out due diligence on the brands that advertise, on their financial position, on their franchise agreements, or on any figure, claim or projection in a listing. A brand appearing on the site is not an endorsement by us, and neither is its position in search results, its package tier, or any badge it displays.

A “Verified” badge means the brand has claimed its listing and manages it itself. It does not mean we have checked what the listing says. British Franchise Association membership shown on a listing is checked against the BFA’s public register; the BFA, not us, is responsible for that information.

Franchise investments carry risk, including the risk of losing what you put in. Past or typical performance of other franchisees is not a reliable guide to what you would achieve. Before you sign anything or pay anything to a franchise brand, you should carry out your own investigations and take independent legal and financial advice from someone qualified to give it. Any figures about investment levels, fees, revenue or break-even are supplied by the brand or taken from public sources, and are not verified by us.

Any dealings you have with a brand are between you and that brand. We are not responsible for what a brand does or fails to do, for the accuracy of what it tells you, or for the outcome of any franchise you go on to buy.

4. Using the site

You may use the site for your own genuine purposes: researching franchise opportunities, enquiring about them, or advertising a brand you are entitled to advertise. You must be at least 18.

You must not:

  • use the site, or anything on it, to build or supply a competing directory, or to benchmark against one;
  • scrape, harvest, copy or systematically extract listings, contact details or other content, whether by automated means or by hand;
  • contact anyone advertising on the site for any purpose other than a genuine enquiry — in particular, not to sell them goods or services;
  • attempt to gain unauthorised access to the site, any account, or the systems it runs on, or to interfere with its security or availability;
  • upload anything unlawful, defamatory, offensive, misleading, or infringing someone else’s rights, or anything containing malicious code;
  • impersonate anyone, or misrepresent who you are or who you act for; or
  • use the site for any unlawful purpose.

You may link to the site, provided the link is fair, does not suggest an association or endorsement that does not exist, and does not present us in a misleading or damaging way. We can ask you to remove a link at any time.

5. Enquiries

When you send an enquiry, we pass the details you give us by email to each brand you selected, so that the brand can reply to you. We act as a conduit for that introduction only — we are not involved in what follows, and we take no commission or fee from it. Where a brand’s listing is managed on its behalf by a franchise consultancy, that consultancy receives the enquiry too.

Once a brand has your enquiry it decides what it does with your information, and it becomes responsible for that as a data controller in its own right. We cannot control how often it contacts you or delete your details from its systems. Our Privacy Policy explains this in full.

Only send an enquiry if you are genuinely interested, and please give accurate details — a brand cannot respond usefully to an enquiry that is not real.

After your first enquiry, the site can remember your details so that you can enquire about other franchises with one click. If you have an account, it uses the details in your profile; if not, it remembers them only until you close your browser. Each one-click enquiry is sent in the same way as any other, and you can stop it at any time with the “Not you?” link or by editing your profile.

We do not guarantee that a brand will reply, or how quickly. We monitor whether enquiries are reaching brands and follow up where they are not, but we cannot make a brand respond.

6. Your account

Some parts of the site need an account — keeping a request list, managing a listing, or buying advertising.

Keep your password confidential. You are responsible for everything done through your account, so tell us straight away at info@findmyfranchise.co.uk if you think someone else has access to it.

The details you give us must be accurate and kept up to date. We may suspend or close an account that contains false information, or that is being used in breach of these terms.

7. Advertising with us

This section and sections 8 to 11 apply if you advertise a franchise brand or a supplier business on the site.

We offer advertising packages with different features, described on our packages page. The features of your package, and the price, are those shown when you buy. We may change what a package includes; if a change materially reduces what you are paying for, we will tell you and you may cancel without penalty.

Extra options shown on the packages page, such as a newsletter feature, an email to our subscribers or social media promotion, are arranged separately. We will confirm the price and what is included in writing before you pay.

You confirm that you have the authority to advertise the brand or business you list, and to grant us the licence in section 8. If you act for someone else — as a consultancy, agency or franchise broker — you confirm you have their permission.

You can let other people edit your listing, for example a colleague, a marketing agency or a franchise consultancy. You are responsible for what they do with that access, and you can remove it at any time. An agency or consultancy may also set up a listing for a brand it works with; the listing does not go live until the brand has claimed it and approved the agency. We may approve, refuse, suspend or remove anyone’s access where we reasonably think it is needed to protect the brand, the site or its users.

We decide how the site looks and how listings are presented, including which category a listing sits in and how results are ordered. Paying for a higher package affects placement as described on the packages page, but does not guarantee any particular position, level of traffic, number of enquiries, or any commercial outcome.

A free listing carries no service commitment. We may change or remove it at any time.

8. Your listing content

You remain the owner of the content you give us — text, logos, images, documents and video. You grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, display, reproduce and adapt it for the purpose of advertising your business on this site and in our own newsletters and social media channels, for as long as your listing is on the site, plus a reasonable period afterwards for backups and archives. We do not license your content to third-party publishers.

You warrant that your content:

  • is accurate, complete and not misleading, including every figure about investment, fees, revenue, profit or break-even;
  • is yours to supply, and does not infringe anyone else’s intellectual property or other rights;
  • complies with the law and with the UK advertising codes — in particular, that any earnings or performance claim can be substantiated on request; and
  • does not claim a membership, accreditation or award you do not hold, including British Franchise Association membership.

We may edit listings for length, tone, formatting, accuracy or search performance, and we may decline or remove anything we reasonably consider inaccurate, misleading, unlawful, offensive or not genuine. We are not obliged to check content, and we are not responsible for content supplied by advertisers.

If you think content on the site infringes your rights, email info@findmyfranchise.co.uk with the detail and we will look into it.

9. Fees and payment

Paid packages are billed in pounds sterling. We don’t currently charge VAT, so the price shown is the price you pay.

We take payment by debit or credit card through our payment provider, Stripe. Your card details go directly to Stripe and are not stored on our systems. Fees are payable in advance, and your package starts once the first payment is taken.

Keep your card details current. If a payment fails we may suspend your listing and the features of your package until payment is made.

If any amount is overdue we may charge interest at 2% a year above the Bank of England base rate, accruing daily from the due date until payment.

Your bank may charge you for an international payment. That is between you and your bank; we do not add anything to it.

We may change our prices. A change will not affect a period you have already paid for, and we will give you at least 30 days’ notice before it applies.

10. Renewal and cancelling

Paid packages are billed monthly in advance. There is no minimum term and no tie-in.

Your package renews automatically each month, and we take payment from your card, until you cancel.

You can cancel at any time, and you do not need to give notice. To cancel, raise a support ticket from your account or email info@findmyfranchise.co.uk. Cancelling stops future payments; your listing stays live until the end of the month you have already paid for, and then comes down.

Refunds

We do not refund a month that has already begun, because the listing runs for the whole of it.

If something has gone wrong — the service was not provided, or was materially not as described — contact us and we will put it right or refund you as appropriate. Any other refund request is considered case by case and granted at our discretion; simply changing your mind is not usually a reason for one.

If you are an individual or a sole trader buying away from our premises, you have a statutory right to cancel within 14 days of purchase. Because a listing goes live as soon as you buy, you ask us to begin the service immediately and you accept that if you then cancel within the 14 days we may charge you a proportionate amount for the period the listing was live. This right does not apply to companies or limited liability partnerships.

Either of us may end these terms immediately by written notice if the other commits a serious breach that is not put right within 14 days of being asked, or becomes insolvent. Sections 3, 8, 12, 13, 14, 19 and 20 survive.

11. Suspension and removal

We may remove a listing, suspend an account or block access to the site where we reasonably believe these terms have been breached, where content is inaccurate, misleading or unlawful, where a payment is overdue, or where doing so is necessary to protect the site, other users or ourselves.

Where it is reasonable to do so we will tell you first and give you a chance to put things right. Where the problem is serious — unlawful content, fraud, a security risk — we may act immediately.

If we suspend a paid listing because of something you have done, fees remain payable. If we suspend it for a reason of our own, we will extend your paid period by the time lost or refund that part of the fee.

12. Intellectual property

The site, its design, its software, the FindMyFranchise name and logo, and the compiled directory of listings belong to us or are licensed to us. Advertisers keep the rights in the content they supply, and third-party brand names and logos belong to their owners.

You may view the site, and print or download extracts for your own genuine use in researching a franchise. You may not otherwise copy, republish, sell, adapt or extract any substantial part of the site or of the directory, and you may not present any part of it as your own.

The directory is a database in which we hold rights. Systematic extraction of it, in whole or in substantial part, infringes those rights.

If you send us feedback or suggestions about the site, we may use them freely and without owing you anything. This does not apply to your listing content, which is covered by section 8.

13. Our liability

Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited.

Subject to that:

  • The site is provided as it is. We do not promise it will always be available, uninterrupted or free of errors, and we may change or withdraw parts of it.
  • We are not liable for anything a franchise brand, supplier, consultancy or other user does, says or fails to do, nor for the accuracy of anything they supply.
  • We are not liable for business losses — loss of profit, revenue, business, goodwill, anticipated savings, data, or opportunity — or for any indirect or consequential loss.
  • Our total liability arising in any 12-month period, whether in contract, negligence or otherwise, is limited to the greater of (a) the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim, and (b) £100.

If you are a consumer rather than a business, you have legal rights that these terms do not affect, and nothing here excludes them.

14. Your indemnity to us

If you advertise on the site, you will cover us for any claim, loss, cost or reasonable expense we incur because of content you supplied, or because you have broken these terms — in particular a claim that your content infringes someone’s rights, is misleading, or breaches advertising rules.

We will tell you promptly about any such claim, will not settle it without asking you first, and will let you take over the defence of it if you want to.

15. Personal data

How we handle personal information is set out in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.

In short: we are the controller for the information we collect through the site. When we pass an enquiry to a franchise brand, that brand becomes a controller in its own right for what it then does with it. We are not each other’s processor.

If you receive enquiry details from us, you must handle them lawfully: use them only to respond to the enquiry, and establish your own lawful basis before marketing to that person separately. If you upload someone else’s personal information as part of a listing, you confirm you may lawfully do so.

16. Other websites

The site links to websites we do not control, including the websites of brands that advertise with us. We are not responsible for their content, their products or their privacy practices, and a link is not an endorsement. Your dealings with them are your own, and their terms apply.

17. Changes to these terms

We may change these terms as the site or the law changes. The date at the top of this page shows when they were last revised, and the current version always applies to your use of the site.

If you have a paid package and we make a change that materially affects you, we will tell you by email at least 30 days beforehand, and you may cancel without penalty before it takes effect.

18. General

Whole agreement. These terms, our Privacy Policy, and the order you place for a package are the whole agreement between us, and replace anything said or written beforehand. Neither of us relies on any statement not set out in them. This does not limit liability for fraud.

Notices. Notices to us go to info@findmyfranchise.co.uk. Notices to you go to the email address on your account or on your enquiry. Email notices take effect when sent, unless we know delivery failed.

Transfer. You may not transfer your rights or obligations without our written consent. We may transfer ours — for example if the business is sold — and will tell you if we do; your rights will not be reduced.

Delay is not waiver. If we do not insist on something, or delay in enforcing it, that does not mean we have given up the right to do so later.

Severability. If any part of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the rest continues to apply.

No partnership. Nothing here makes either of us the other’s partner, agent or employee.

Third parties. Nobody other than you and us may enforce these terms.

Events outside our control. Neither of us is liable for a delay or failure caused by something genuinely outside our reasonable control. This does not excuse an obligation to pay.

19. Law and disputes

These terms, and any dispute arising out of them or their subject matter, are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.

If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you may also bring proceedings in the courts of the country you live in.

If something goes wrong, please tell us first — most things are settled quickly by email.
